简介： TheSiegeofLeningradwhichenduredalittleshortof900daysandnightsundertheNaziblockad TheSiegeofLeningradwhichenduredalittleshortof900daysandnightsundertheNaziblockadeduringWorldWarTwohaslongbeenofinteresttome.Ihaveviewedextensivefootageovertheyearsandwasgreatlylookingforwardtoseeingthis’newapproachwithnever-beforeseenarchivalfootage’.Thisishowitwasbilledatthe2007SydneyFilmFestival.Whileitmaybetruethatthisactualcamerafootagemaynothavebeenshownbefore,thesubjectoftheshotsarenotnew.Nevertheless,thepowerofthefilmliesinitsminimalistambientapproach.NoNarratortellingyouwhatthefilm-makerwantsyoutoknow.Nodramaticmusictooverlaytheimages.OnecouldsaythatthegreatesttechnicalcontributioncamefromtheFoleyartistsandtheireffectiveapplicationofnaturaleffects.Furthermore,thelonglastingshotswithverylittleeditor’sintrusion,capturethetediumofeverydaysurvival.ThisisatrueSocialistfilminthatitgivescentrestagetothe’commonpeople’goingabouttheirdailylivesindegeneratingcircumstances.Thegreatdisappointmentformeisitsbrieflengthof52minutescoveringonlyfourseasons,andnotthetenseasonsofthesiege.Sadly,thisworthyfilm,withitsstyleexemplifyingminimalismandUNsensationalismatitsbest,shotitselfinthefootbynotfollowingthroughwiththefullmagnitudeoftheevent,andpulleditspunchesbyexcludingcertainhorrendousaspectscommittedbysomeofthestarvingcitizens.Thefilm-maker’s’distant’approachassumedtheviewer’sfamiliaritywiththesubject.Thoseofuswhoarefamiliarwiththesubjectfeltshort-changed.Thosenotfamiliarwereconfused.Butstillworthseeing. 详情
